Let’s get real about our current reality caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Since there is so much happening around us we are all, whether we realize it or not, experiencing some form of trauma. This could be because of supporting loved ones who are sick, mourning the passing of someone we loved and cared about, or even trying to manage the anxiety and the reality of our new “normal”.
In this episode, I will be sharing with you what I have learned about being a “trauma steward” from the book Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Care for Yourself While Caring for Others by Laura von Dernoot Lipsky I will discuss with you the different responses that one exhibits when faced with trauma which would ultimately lead to burnout. I will also remind you that, in this time, it is okay to show yourself grace when it comes to your long term goals and to take the time to focus on what matters most, your health and your family.
