In this 50th EPISODE OF THE BURNED IN TEACHER PODCAST, Vicki lets us in on challenges she's faced in her career that lead her to feelings of burnout.  From being overextended, dealing with cell phones in the classroom, and deciding not to measure her value against what she sees on Social Media or what people believe to be true about how public speakers should look in order to be on stage plus much more, she worked hard to beat the negative self talk to become her best, most powerful self. 

Vicki Davis, a full-time teacher for 17 years, is also an IT Director and blogger at the Cool Cat Teacher Blog and host of the 10-Minute Teacher.

 

CALL TO ACTION: THINGS YOU CAN DO TOMORROW 

  1. When you start having those negative feelings and/or challenges that are affecting you negatively, seek solutions to those challenges, and reach out for the help that you need.  
  2. Understand and accept that there are some things that are unimportant and out of your control.  And all those other things "let it go!".  
  3. Spend some time outside in nature.  You can take a walk, run, or even just sit outside and enjoy the nature around you.
